A Very Merry 2014

...

Four years ago when we decided to film our first Christmas tree decorating session, we never really planned on it being a thing. Now, four years later it’s one of our favorite traditions.

We’ve explained this before here (2010), here (2011), here (2012), and here (2013). In case you wanted to see how things have evolved.

And it’s that time of year once again!

2014 was quite the year to reflect upon and we owe a huge thanks to everybody who made it so groovy.

  1. Hi! I’m sorry I drop this comment here but I dont know how else I can contact you. I would like to know how your Hi-Macs countertop is doing after what I understand two years of installing them. Have you had any problems with stains or scratches or the heat issue? Since you have the seamless sink, have you had any trouble with the no boiling water thing?
    thanks!

    • HI Maria, we love them! They’ve held up really well. Like literally still flawless and super easy to clean (even in this light color). The heat issue really isn’t a huge issue. It can handle some heat, you just can’t set a boiling pot down on it. The only thing to keep in mind is that since the seamless sink basin is pure white it does take a bit of effort to keep clean. But nothing a sponge and some soap can’t handle.

As for the boiling water, never had an issue and we strain boiling water all of the time.

Really hope this helps you make a decision!

  2. I randomly came across your great blog from a pinterest link, and love what you and your husband have done. Great ideas, and great way to keep your friends and family updated on your updates. I do a similar thing with an “email list serve” for our (my husband and I) home. I hope you update soon with some more images of projects since 2014 🙂

    • Hi Dr. MedVet – thanks for the support! We’re hoping to provide a few updates here soon. The blog kind of took a back burner to life! Things got busy!

  3. Thanks for the photos of the countertop. I was torn between the Tapioca Pearl and the Ripe Cotton. Your photos helped … a lot … I really like the Ripe Cotton. Also, the seam photos and description allayed my fears about the seam. Your kitchen looks lovely and I’m sure Chestnut still likes it. Thanks.

    • Thanks Juanita! 🙂
Glad we could help you make your decision. We do love the Ripe Cotton color.

Would love to see your countertops when you get them installed. Send us a note over at thisnestisblessed@gmail.com

      Thanks!
